The SSB interview carries 900 marks, as many as the written exam. At CSM AFPI, preparation for it runs alongside the written syllabus, guided by a former Group Testing Officer.
An officer intelligence rating test and a picture perception and discussion test.

The assessors meet and decide who is recommended.
SSB coaching at CSM AFPI is led by mentors who have selected officers at selection centres, in the roles of Interviewing Officer, Group Testing Officer and Psychologist. The training re-enacts the SSB process so cadets get realistic, hands-on practice.
